I like looking at these writing portfolio’s because I believe it shows everyone’s best work in the class so far. When I looked at your portfolio I knew I had to read the story about Hanuman, because he is one of my favorite characters in the whole book.
I loved that Hanuman believed the sun was a mango; I enjoyed reading the story about Hanuman, and am glad that you included this detail in your story. I also believe you did a great job with showing how one decision, Vayu quitting his job, leads to a lot of bad repercussions for everyone. You also did a good job showing how they fixed them. I thought it was a clever story to show how Hanuman gets eternal life.
I believe you did a good job of expanding upon Hanuman’s story. I think your take of him being innocent and clueless was what made me really enjoy this story. Hanuman to me is a very innocent creature, which is what makes me like him so much.
I liked your picture, but I wish it was in your actual story, not just after your bibliography. Maybe that is just the way it showed up on my computer, I am not sure. Keep up the good work!
Hey! Good job on your portfolio! So far I enjoyed reading your stories but thought you could add more details or creativity in your work. Your kept the stories pretty much the same which is good but maybe twist it up a bit more? For the picture of Hanuman, that was in our reading guide. Your could perhaps use a different picture that also depict the birth of Hanuman since that seemed like it was the theme of your first story. Although you did add some details of him being clueless and innocent which the exciting part of the story. For Dasaratha's death, I actually liked that story a lot and thought you added some significant details in it. Overall, I think you did a great job of expanding the story and making it longer but thought you could add more creativity. Throw in something a little bit different but not too drastic that it would change the whole plot.
Overall, you did a wonderful job! I also did a portfolio myself because I thought it was easier than making up different stories. I liked your background layout, it is simple and black but sophisticated looking. Your kept it a simple color but looked good enough where the font wasn't weird and crazy and people can't read.
Great job so far on your portfolio! I like that you have the black background with white lettering because it makes the stories stand out, and also it makes the stories easier to read. Also I loved all the pictures that you chose to use in your stories because they all depict your writings so well!
Since I am writing a storybook, I always enjoy reading people's portfolio. I really liked all the stories that you have done so far! My favorite by far was the story of Hanuman because I loved his character so much when we read the Ramayana. Also that story is very fun and comical to read. I also loved the story of Dasaratha's death. This story was fantastic because there was some real emotion behind this story. This was one of the most emotional parts in the Ramayana because of how horrible Dasaratha feels for having to banish Rama. You did a great job conveying that emotion in your retelling of it.
Overall, you have done a great job! I am looking forward to reading more of your stories as the semester goes along.
I also went with the portfolio choice, I have found it very interesting to compare the portfolios to the storybooks and examine the differences. Starting with the basics your design is outstanding and extremely easy to navigate. I enjoy how the website is a black background with the white text popping off the page. Very nicely done.
The story of Hanumans one that I feel like i have seen quite a bit, yet somehow overbite it is told differently. You did the same here by adding your own personal touch of details that really brought out a new plot. You provided a sense of comedy which is pretty impressive to do with some of these stories. Also you really have some emotion in this story with seems to add to your great techniques of storytelling.
Hey, Parth!! This comment is to reconnect with you on a comment you wrote back in Week 9 on my Famous Last Words post. I’ve been doing well, same as usual these days, you know how it goes! It really has been forever since I have last seen you! Hope all is well and your roomies are all doing the same. Have a good rest of the semester!!
